As a Hero, a Scion becomes a figure of myth and story, an exemplar of some virtue of their chosen society or the culture they’re born into. Even before their Visitation, the children of the Gods are a breed apart. But some want more than this lesser form of immortality, forever in the shadow of their parents. The golden ichor within the Scion’s heart sears and cooks them, ever burning away any human frailties of the Scion and driving them toward more audacious Deeds. They seek to become truly transformational figures, leaving The World forever different in their wake. At the fifth dot of Legend, it all reaches a tipping point, where the Scion is formed more of divine ichor than mortal flesh —more immortal than mortal, a true Demigod. They have declared to The World that they will not be pawns of Fate, but players in their own right. They will succeed in becoming a God, or they will die with their failure.

Everything up to this point was your prologue. Now it’s time to live your myth.

Scion: Demigod continues the path set down by Scion: Origin and Scion: Hero, expanding Scion Second Edition’s power level and charting the next level of power tiers for the Scions of the Gods. Players will take their characters through a tightly designed yet flexible story arc that ends in apotheosis or death – either way, the character will no longer be mortal after this book. Your characters don’t have to follow every Milestone with their Deeds — but they cannot run from their destiny once they’ve chosen to embrace it.

Hello Continuum Community,

End of July, you know the drill! Time to check in and see where all of our projects are. I'll tell you upfront that Trinity Continuum: Aberrant is moving to the next phase of production - layout! So, while the game is not yet ready for our eyes, it's getting closer and closer!

So, to state the obvious, 2020 has been a weird year. Normally, last night would have been Gen Con Eve, and if the past 20 years has developed any rituals, I'd have spent a good portion of that evening catching up with Rich Thomas to find out what he's got going on.

The good news is that many more of us can peek in on a similar conversation, as Gen Con Online 2020 begins today. Onyx Path will be doing a "What's Up With Onyx Path?" panel today, Thursday, July 30th at 1:00 PM EDT US time, during the Gen Con Online convention that is happening instead of a physical space Gen Con this year. That will be shown on the Onyx Path Twitch channel, so you can check it out here: TheOnyxPath Twitch

There will also be gaming sessions during the virtual convention, so check the Gen Con page for those! https://www.gencon.com/online/

I will miss seeing all of my friends that I only get to see in person once a year, but I'm excited to see all of the online games and panels and keep connected to this awesome community.

MORE STORYPATH ON KICKSTARTER

Meanwhile, if you want to see the Storypath system bend in ways slightly different than it does in the Trinity Continuum, check out Onyx Path's latest kickstarter, They Came from Beyond the Grave!

Set in two time periods - the 1970s, when these movies were made, and the 19th century, when many were set - you may just find yourself running or participating in a tale of suspense set across two different eras, both of which contain a mix of hammy acting, technicolor blood, wobbling sets, and all the screams an audience could want.

Indulge in the cigarette smoke, despairing mood, and wide collars of the 1970s. Enjoy the rock and drugs entering the mainstream. What was counterculture is now simply culture. Maybe you favor the disco, or perhaps the punk scene is more your thing. Grow a mustache. Grow a whole beard! It’s no longer rebellious to wear hair or sideburns so long or skirts so short: it’s expected. Hitchhiking isn’t a death sentence yet. Or not quite. Everyone owns a car, and international travel has never felt so easy.

Prepare to trudge through the London fog, creep around unlit alleys, and get lost on misty moors as your deerstalker and long coat gets saturated from the rain apparently incessant throughout the 19th century depicted in the cinema. Prepare to catch a ride in a carriage and ask the driver why he’s going so fast through this part of the woods. Expect to knock on the door to an imposing castle, only to see the butler, far too pale of face, ask whether you’re here to see “the mistress.” The 19th century beckons you to play within its Victorian gothic mood. Start the game here or start it in the 1970s — whichever you prefer, They Came from Beyond the Grave! has monsters, stories, and encounters for whatever tale you wish to tell.

Hello Continuum Community,

No major updates for this month, but wanted to make sure I continue my monthly update posts to track all of our rewards and continue to share any info about the project (and other Onyx Path projects) so we're all in the loop.

I do want to share this exciting bit of fun! As you may know, Onyx Path hosted a Virtual Gaming Convention earlier this month, featuring interesting panels discussing their processes and projects as well as other relevant topics. You can check out the videos on their Twitch Channel or search #OnxyPathCon on Youtube.

Once again, inspired by Ian's discussion of all the stuff going on in the Trinity Continuum, here's a big overview of what's in the works. Let's take a look:

First Draft (The first phase of a project that is about the work being done by writers, not dev prep.)

•  Trinity Continuum: Anima: After the Aberrant War of the 2060s, there was The Crash, plunging parts of the world into a dystopian cyberpunk future. Cities were built up after the horrors of The Crash, but people still flock to fantasy entertainment to forget the troubles of the world outside, using a brain implant known as “Glass.” In Trinity Continuum: Anima, characters try to get by while staving off attacks from enemies both physical and virtual. Anima gives players the chance to enter both the dangerous world of corporate espionage, while also delving deep into the virtual world’s mysteries. Between the two exist a myriad of deadly secrets meant to be left buried.

Redlines

•  Novas Worldwide (Trinity Continuum: Aberrant Stretch Goal project)

Second Draft

•  Mission Statements: A guide to many of the companies, allegiances, and organizations within the Æon setting.
•  Trinity Continuum: Adventure!: A new edition of the classic Adventure! pulp game. Set in the 1930s, a time of Hope. A decade after the Hammersmith Incident which caused an explosion of people with strange capabilities, and the resulting formation of the Æon Society for Gentlemen.

Development

•  Trinity Continuum: Aberrant Reference Screen (Trinity Continuum: Aberrant Stretch Goal project)
•  Trinity Continuum: Assassins: A look into the hidden underworld of secret killers who operate in the shadows. Inspired by media like John Wick, Assassin’s Creed, La Femme Nikita, Hitman, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and more.

•  N!ternational Wrestling Entertainment (Trinity Continuum: Aberrant Stretch Goal project)
•  Under Alien Suns: A sister-book to Terra Firma, a guide to the alien races of Æon, including a guide on using them as player characters.

•  Trinity Continuum Jumpstart: An introductory guide to the Trinity Continuum core rules. Includes a quick overview of the Storypath System, some pre-generated characters, and a modern-day action-adventure scenario.

Post-Editing Development

•  Trinity Continuum: Aberrant: A new edition of the classic Aberrant superhero game. The year is 2028, a time of Sacrifice. Ten years ago, the Galatea exploded in orbit, and people all over the world began to manifest the ability to manipulate the four fundamental forces of nature. These novas quickly rose to be media darlings, with influence felt everywhere: from superteams to fashion shows, from conflict zones to computer tech, few parts of the world are left untouched. The Æon Society keeps an eye on things, but even they can only do so much. Development: Steve Kenson, Ian A. A. Watson, Eddy Webb 
•  Terra Firma: A guide to Earth in the Æon setting.

If you catch any typos, incorrect math, visual glitches, and the like, we want to hear about them and correct them before we send the book off to print.

With that in mind, I'd like to introduce the Swine and Cheese Party errata and correction process!

Generally, we try to keep errata collection open for the next 2 weeks, although it may be accessible a little bit longer due to the chaotic nature of the world we're in now. Still, please report what you can as soon as possible to make sure we're getting everything covered.

We won't be collecting errata from other spots, just this specific form. Please note this form will be for errata only - typos, incorrect math, page elements that overlap incorrectly, etc. It won't be for book discussion - you can do that in a different thread, or on the Kickstarter comments page.

Also, they already know about the Page XX notations - those are usually corrected after any changes are made and the books are being finalized.

After any needed corrections are made (based on your feedback!), we will prepare an updated final PDF version of the book and you will receive a notice from DrivethruRPG that you can re-download your file with the latest version.

You've already made the book a reality with your Kickstarter support. Now you can make it even better by helping us crowdsource any minor errors and corrections.

I'll have another update at the end of the month, noting our reward progress, as usual, except I'll have shifted our Duke Rollo Fiction PDF from the "Pending" to "Delivered" pile. Now, there's still a distance to go and work to be done, but let's celebrate this accomplishment and enjoy a little Nova Age ranting!
